Planning: Casting

Casting for our music video is extremely important, this is because we want to have an actor who is comfortable and confident with doing stuff in front of a camera so they can convey our intention to the audience. We want someone with at least some sort of acting experience because this would ensure us that they will be comfortable with what they are doing.

Each of our actors will be choosing a song they know fairly well and will be lip syncing to that song to give us an indication to what they are like in front of the camera. Me and Sean will be picking the actor who successfully uses their acting ability, tone and eye contact with the camera to give us further information about their personality when being filmed.

I myself will be directing the the actors as I have fair strong experience with acting in general so I would be able to tell what they'll be like and if they would be suitable for our production. Sean will be filming and also giving out instructions to ensure we get high quality video to analyse each performance. I'll be focusing on the mouth movements and their physical movement to see what they portray to the camera.

Our options/actors


Oliver -

Oliver has some experience with me and Sean last year as he was the main part in our short horror film, he played a really good and scary role. Hi acting technique is very creepy, however with his audition he can show us something different, his mouth movement coordinates  well with the camera, which means it was easy for me to lip sync him in adobe premiere pro. Like I said with Max I just let him be the character which went with the music and there is a powerful essence  which Oliver portrayed. However his body language seemed very dramatic for the role we want him to play, he want someone who feels more free and can feel the music to which was being portrayed, though Olly is a very good actor we need someone suited to the role a little bit better.

However we have chosen Olly to be a background actor in our music video to help us build a stronger and powerful atmosphere for the audience.




Max -

Max is considered as a 'newbie' as we haven't worked with Max much in the past, but in this audition he is considered as perfect, even though the song it self could do some work to it, he lip synced perfectly to it and he felt as if he was actually the singer of the band, which is want we want, we want someone who can look as if they are really singing this song and they are really into it. Not only that but Max's body language and eyes tell me he can be a good actor which is also what we would like, therefore though we have not worked with Max we'd like to change that by making him the actor in our music video.

Matt - Matt wanted to volunteer so he had some sort of experience in front of camera.

Olly - Olly has volunteered because he expressed to us he wanted to work with us again and wanted to be in the background

Michael - Michael is in this video because he wanted to gain extra's experience
