We believe at the first bit of the music video it will track in very fast on the actors face and cut into a flashback in the past. When the first lyrics appear he will be lip syncing to the music video with cuts to when he was around his group of friends, the camera then shows the actor taking a drug which gives extra content to why the song is called 'Euphoria'. We are going to have cuts showing the character's environment and surroundings which portray the atmosphere of the song. The tracking in on the face very fast is a very quick build up to the song as at the very beginning it has a taste of the chorus instrumental
LYRICS FOCUS ON NOSTALGIA. BRIDGE FOCUSES ON THE INTENTION OF DRUG USE. Lyrics focus on nostalgia and the bridge focuses on the intention of drugs use within our music piece.
Filled with pink coloured sugar. Use this for the drugs.
Alternatively, find a way to make fake pills and we will smash the pills up and show the powder underneath the actors nose to prove that he's taken it.
Verses- slower. Music video must match pace of song
Choruses- allow the video a chance to build towards the 1 minute mark.
At this point, video speeds up. I'll speed this up by using less frames per second during the editing of the music video, also adding a drug type effect/ dizziness to give a hint to the audience that drug use is what we are trying to portray.
Opening is short. Main actor might be sitting somewhere with strong context within the video, camera tracks in towards their face quickly as the song rises.
Then speed up to match the music. Could be a quick montage of the rest of the video. Flash the name of the song up during the montage.
During the slower, first verse, have lip syncing.
‘And I'm looking back
We were young then’
((Nostalgia themed. Can show the main actor having a flashback, maybe about an ex/a group of friends/their past?))
‘In the strangest dream of me
And I'm looking back
We were dumb then
In the strangest dream’
((More of the same. Maybe some shots focusing on the main character’s surroundings/environment.))
[Chorus]
Euphoria ( We can introduce some dizziness which explains the effect you get before taking them the your body tells you not to take anything which may harm it.)
Don't leave
((Main character can lip sync or prepare for the next scene, perhaps pouring out some pills into their hand))
Euphoria
((Show handful of pills))
Don't lie to me ((<== lip sync this, looking into camera))
((Afterwards, down the pills and edit in blur + colour explosion.))
((This lasts a while before character sits back down.))
[Verse 2]
((Track in towards the character from across the room, sitting down again.)) Possible slow motion ( high fps) to add more of an atmosphere and editing techniques in which will help us get a higher grade for our music video.
Now it's in the past
And I'm stuck here
In the strangest dream of me
((Looking out across the room, another flashback. Blurry.))
And we can't go back
To a moment
In a stranger's dream
[Chorus]
Euphoria
((Character gets up))
Don't leave
((Camera follows as they walk across the room))
Euphoria
Don't lie to me
((Character opens a door/steps outside. Camera blinded by light.))
((During the instrumental part, merge more of the flashback with footage of main character walking alone. Juxtapose scenes of character with friends in the past, then being alone in the same place.))
[Bridge]
You never got high enough [x4]
((Taking pills/Snorting something. Then show character vomiting into toilet.))
[Chorus]
Euphoria
Don't leave
Euphoria
Don't lie to me
Have a fade at the end of this chorus and video to signify to the audience that the video is finished.
((More flashbacks scattered along these scenes. Ends with fading to black as tracking away from character.))
The editing will determine how the music video turns out, we were also thinking about applying a party atmosphere for an idea and for that we would plant lots of strobes around a room and have the actor enjoying himself but then goes to the toilets and takes the pill either normally or smashed up so we can have the effect of powder underneath the nose which gives the audience a very powerful idea. Euphoria is another word for saying that you are happy or confident and the word relates strongly to what we want to convey with the music piece as the character would be known as n adrenaline junky , basically someone who loves getting themselves in intense situations everyone else is scared off, for example taking these drugs.
